SEA LIFE is run by Merlin Entertainments, and its own site explains much of how pricing works. On-the-door prices are higher than online prices, and online prices vary with available capacity. That alone answers most of the discount question.
This guide sets out the ways to pay less, without quoting figures, because prices change by date, aquarium and demand. Each point is tied to what the operator or a specific listing states.
The quick answer
Book online ahead of time rather than at the door, choose a quieter day, and use the free entry rules for under-2s and, in London, carers. If you plan to see a neighbouring Merlin attraction too, a combo ticket can cover both. Most promo codes on coupon sites have expired.
Is it cheaper to book SEA LIFE tickets online?
Yes, according to the operator. SEA LIFE London's official site says on-the-door prices are higher and same-day availability is not guaranteed.
The official London site also says to book online to guarantee entry, with free rescheduling. Booking ahead therefore lowers the cost and removes the risk of arriving to a sold-out slot.
In Orlando, the operator describes online tickets as giving faster admission; the Sydney listing describes its ticket as skip the line. Flexibility has value too: the Melbourne listing states tickets are valid for one year from purchase, with the timeslot chosen afterwards, so buying early does not lock you into a date.
Book ahead rather than at the door: timed entry with free cancellation up to 24 hours before on the London listing.
Book thisAre SEA LIFE tickets cheaper on quieter days?
Often. The London operator states that online ticket prices vary depending on available capacity, so less busy slots tend to cost less.
Weekday mornings outside school holidays are typically the quietest times. Compare a few dates before you commit: if your plans are flexible, the date itself can be the discount.
Do SEA LIFE combo tickets save money?
They can, if you were going to visit both attractions anyway. SEA LIFE is often sold together with a neighbouring Merlin attraction.
- London: SEA LIFE and the London Eye; the combo listing states it is valid for 90 days.
- Orlando: SEA LIFE and Madame Tussauds in ICON Park; the operator says the combo is valid for 15 days from first visit.
- Arizona: SEA LIFE and LEGOLAND Discovery Center, next door at Arizona Mills.
A combo helps when you use both parts. For the brand links behind these pairings, see SEA LIFE vs SeaWorld.
SEA LIFE London and a London Eye ride on one booking, valid for 90 days, with the Eye slot booked separately at no cost.
Book thisDo under-2s go free at SEA LIFE?
At several sites, yes. The London, Minnesota and Bangkok listings each state that under-2s go free.
Free is not the same as ticket-free: the London listing states that under-2s still need a ticket. Add the free ticket with the rest of your group so everyone shares one entry time.
Age rules for older children vary by listing. London requires under-16s to be with an adult aged 18 or over; Bangkok states that ages 2 to 15 must be with a paying adult; Munich states that under-15s must be with an adult. At Mall of America, the mall's parental escort policy applies to under-16s from 3pm, with an adult aged 21 or over.
Do carers get free entry at SEA LIFE?
The London listing states that a carer goes free. For other aquariums, check the operator's accessibility information before booking.
The London listing also states the building is wheelchair accessible with a maximum of ten wheelchairs at once, so booking a timed slot ahead is advisable for wheelchair users and their carers.
Carer free on the London listing, with timed entry to fit your visit.
Book thisAre there SEA LIFE annual passes?
The GetYourGuide listings covered here do not include annual passes; for pass options and terms, check the operator's own site.
If you live near a SEA LIFE or a group of Merlin attractions and expect to return several times in a year, compare a pass on the operator's own site with the cost of single visits. For a one-off tourist visit, a dated online ticket is usually the simpler choice.
Do SEA LIFE discount codes work?
Rarely. Most codes on coupon sites are expired, and promotions such as voucher schemes come and go.
Promotions are run for limited periods and often apply to specific sites or dates. If one is running, it will appear on the operator's site; a code found on a coupon aggregator is unlikely to be current.
The dependable levers are the ones above: book online, pick a quieter date, use free entry rules, and combine attractions when you will use both.
Is the SEA LIFE Orlando combo with Madame Tussauds a good deal?
It suits visitors spending time at ICON Park. The operator says the combo is valid for 15 days from first visit, so the two do not have to be on the same day.
SEA LIFE Orlando has more than 5,000 creatures, a 360-degree ocean tunnel, a Jelly Wall and the Coastal Rockpool touch pool. The Orlando listing gives a visit of one to two hours, which leaves room for a second attraction in ICON Park.
SEA LIFE Orlando in ICON Park: a 360-degree ocean tunnel and a touch pool, in one to two hours.
